Stardew Valley Version 1.6: New Content Revealed

Original (7/17): It turns out that ConcernedApe isn’t done with Stardew Valley, and the game is going to be receiving another round of new content as part of version 1.6.

Technically this isn’t the first time that we’re hearing about this. ConcernedApe did confirm plans for version 1.6 in April, but mainly said it’s “changes for modders” and that there would be “much less” content than version 1.5.

Now via a new message on social media, we have a better idea as to what’s in store. ConcernedApe has thus far confirmed a new festival, new items, more dialogue, secrets, and more which has yet to be revealed. Beyond that we’re waiting to hear about more of the specifics.

Of course, the developer is working on more than just the latest Stardew Valley update. In October 2021, ConcernedApe announced Haunted Chocolatier, which you can read about here. Development on it has been paused as Stardew Valley version 1.6 gets the focus. However, once that’s done, Haunted Chocolatier will continue to progress.

Is there anything you’d like to see specifically in the Stardew Valley 1.6 update? Let us know in the comments below.

Stardew Valley is currently available on Switch as both a physical and digital release.

Update (9/27): More details about the update have been revealed about the Stardew Valley version 1.6 update. A couple of these things were known, but players can expect a new major festival, two new mini festivals, new late-game content that expands on each of the skill areas, new items and crafting recipes, Joja alternatives to some end-game quests, over 100 new lines of dialogue, winter outfits for the villagers, new type of reward for completing billboard requests, additions and adjustments, new farm type, new secrets, and more. Still no word on launch timing.

Stardew Valley Version 1.6 Update: What to Expect

Stardew Valley fans have reason to celebrate as ConcernedApe, the developer behind the popular farming simulation game, has announced that the game will be receiving a new round of content as part of the highly anticipated version 1.6 update. While details were initially scarce, a recent social media post has shed light on what players can expect from this exciting update.

New Festivals and Mini Festivals

One of the highlights of the version 1.6 update is the introduction of a new major festival, adding even more excitement and festivities to the game. Additionally, players can look forward to two new mini festivals, providing even more opportunities for fun and community engagement in the virtual world of Stardew Valley.

Expanded Late-Game Content

The version 1.6 update aims to enhance the late-game experience by expanding on each of the skill areas. This means that players will have even more content to explore and master, ensuring that their journey in Stardew Valley remains engaging and rewarding even after reaching the later stages of the game.

New Items and Crafting Recipes

In addition to festivals and late-game content, the update will introduce a plethora of new items and crafting recipes. These additions will not only provide players with more options for customization and creativity but also offer new gameplay mechanics and strategies to enhance their farming and daily activities.

Joja Alternatives and Dialogue

ConcernedApe has listened to player feedback and will be implementing Joja alternatives to some end-game quests. This change will provide players with alternative paths and choices, allowing for a more personalized and unique gameplay experience. Furthermore, over 100 new lines of dialogue will be added, enriching the interactions between players and the diverse cast of characters that populate Stardew Valley.

Furthermore, players can expect the discovery of new secrets, adding an element of mystery and intrigue to the already captivating world of Stardew Valley.
