Super Mario Bros. Wonder: A New 2D Mario Game Coming to Nintendo Switch

October 20th is an exciting day for Nintendo fans as the highly anticipated Super Mario Bros. Wonder will be launching on the Nintendo Switch. This will be the first brand new 2D Mario game in over 11 years, and it has already generated a lot of buzz among gamers.

Hands-On Impressions

Recently, a special event was held where lucky attendees had the opportunity to go hands-on with the game. We were among the fortunate few who got to experience this upcoming platformer firsthand, and we’re here to share our initial impressions with you.

During the event, we had the chance to try out a number of different levels, and we were blown away by the creativity and fun factor of each one. The gameplay is as tight and polished as you would expect from a Mario game, and the level design is top-notch.

One of the highlights of our playthrough was getting to test out some of the new powerups. The Elephant powerup allows Mario to transform into a giant elephant, using its trunk to suck up enemies and obstacles. The Drill powerup, on the other hand, lets Mario burrow through the ground, creating new paths and uncovering hidden secrets.

But the real star of the show is the Wonder Flower. This zany-new item introduces an element of unpredictability to the game. When Mario collects the Wonder Flower, he can “expect the unexpected.” This powerup opens up a world of possibilities, from turning enemies into harmless objects to transforming the environment in surprising ways.

Multiplayer Antics

In addition to the single-player experience, Super Mario Bros. Wonder also offers multiplayer gameplay. During our time with the game, we had the opportunity to test out some multiplayer antics with the adorable little Yoshi. The multiplayer mode adds a whole new layer of fun and chaos, as you and your friends can team up or compete against each other in the colorful Mario universe.

Break Time and Wonder Seeds

Super Mario Bros. Wonder introduces a brand new minigame called “break time.” During these breaks, players can earn Wonder Seeds, a valuable currency in the game. These seeds can be used to unlock new levels, powerups, and other exciting content. So, make sure to take advantage of these breaks and collect as many Wonder Seeds as you can!

Early Levels and Varied Characters

The gameplay footage we are sharing with you today showcases some early-ish levels from Super Mario Bros. Wonder. It’s important to note that these levels are still subject to change, but they give us a taste of what to expect from the full game.

In the video, you’ll see us playing with a number of different characters, each with their own unique abilities. This adds a layer of strategy and replayability to the game, as you can experiment with different characters and find the playstyle that suits you best.
