New Xbox Update Preview Arrives for Omega Ring

Hey Xbox Insiders! Get ready for the latest Xbox Update Preview, now available for the Omega ring. This update brings various improvements to ensure a high-quality and stable experience on Xbox consoles. Although the changes to the user interface may not be noticeable, we want to keep you informed about the upcoming updates for your device. Here are the details:

System Update Details

OS version released: XB_FLT_2309ZN\25398.2258.230918-2000
Available: 4 p.m. PT – September 20, 2023
Mandatory: 4 p.m. PT – September 21, 2023

Note: Please note that this update may not occur automatically. You can always find the most current update by opening the Guide > Profile & system > Settings > System > Updates.

For newly enrolled users in the Omega ring, it’s important to know that you may not receive all early updates, but you will receive the update before the general availability release. Also, some users may remain on their current build until the next system update becomes mandatory for the public. You can visit the Xbox Insider Program FAQ for more information.

Known Issues

We understand that some issues have been persisting from previous Xbox Insider Release Notes. Our team is actively working on finding solutions, but it may take some time. Here are a few known issues:

Audio

Intermittent audio issues have been reported across the dashboard, games, and apps.
Note: If you experience audio problems, please submit feedback via Report a Problem immediately, select the “Reproduce with advanced diagnostics” option, and choose the categories “Console experiences” and “Console Audio Output Issues.” Be sure to provide detailed information about when the issue started, whether audio loss occurred only in the game/app or system-wide, any changes in audio format, the effectiveness of rebooting, your setup details, and any additional information that can help reproduce the problem.

Keyboard Button Mapping for Xbox Controllers

If you change your keyboard language settings while the Xbox Accessories app is open, the change will take effect after closing the app or rebooting your console.

Networking

We are currently investigating reports of connection issues on boot. If you encounter this, please report the issue via Report a Problem as soon as possible.
Workaround: Wait for a minute to establish the connection. If your console still doesn’t connect, restart it from the Power Center by holding the Xbox button, selecting Restart console, and then choosing Restart.

Upload your Captures to OneDrive

If you are backing up a large collection of captures (1000+) to OneDrive, it may take some time. Please allow a few days for everything to appear.

Remember, using Report a Problem is crucial in helping us address your issues effectively. While we may not be able to respond to every individual, the data we collect from your feedback is vital in finding a resolution.
