The Narrative Thus Far: Blasphemous 2

Blasphemous 2: A New Adventure Begins

It’s time to don your penitent robes once again, as Blasphemous 2 is finally here. The highly anticipated sequel to the original Blasphemous game takes us back into the dark and twisted world of Cvstodia, where the cycle of life, death, and resurrection continues for the tormented protagonist, The Penitent One.

In the original Blasphemous game, players embarked on a harrowing journey as The Penitent One, the lone survivor of the Massacre of the Silent Sorrow. Armed with the Mea Culpa, the Sword of Guilt, and vowed to eternal silence, our protagonist set out to save the world from the malevolent curse known as The Miracle. Cvstodia, a land already burdened by a curse, was on the verge of unimaginable destruction, and it was up to The Penitent One to bring an end to the pain and misery inflicted by The Miracle.

In the “True Ending” of the original game, players who completed the free Wounds of Eventide DLC were treated to a shocking revelation. While it was believed that there were only three visages overseeing The Miracle’s plans, it was discovered that there was a fourth visage with the ability to see beyond the mortal world. This fourth visage revealed The Miracle’s true form in the Dream, exposing the divine trinity of the High Wills. These High Wills sought reverence and worship from the people of Cvstodia, feeding on their veneration to grow in power. With the help of Crisanta of the Wrapped Agony, The Penitent One faced and destroyed the High Wills, banishing them from the world. Or so we thought…

Grotesque landscapes, traps, and secrets await in this gothic, baroque-infused realm.

Blasphemous 2 offers players a fuller, non-linear world to explore. You can customize your playthrough, improving and customizing your skillset along the way. The game also introduces new enemies, bosses, and weapons, allowing for more diverse and satisfying combat experiences. Prepare for intense boss battles and discover long-forgotten secrets as you delve deeper into the mysterious world of Cvstodia.
