Arcade Legend on Quest adds VR axe throwing in a free update this week
Arcade Legend, the popular arcade-building game on the Oculus Quest platform, is receiving an exciting new update this week. Developed by LAI Games, the game allows players to create their own arcade using licensed games like Speed of Light and Balloon Buster. The latest update introduces a new feature that adds another level of fun and excitement to the gameplay – VR axe throwing.
Building upon the success of previous updates, such as public multiplayer lobbies and Skee-Ball DLC, LAI Games has collaborated with the Backyard Axe Throwing League (BATL) to bring this new experience to players. Whether playing solo or with up to 4 friends, the VR axe throwing feature promises to deliver hours of entertainment.
What to expect from the VR axe throwing update
The VR axe throwing update in Arcade Legend includes a variety of exciting features. Players will have access to 10 unlockable axes, each with its own unique characteristics. The update introduces five different throwing games:
- Standard BATL: Compete for high scores in this challenging game mode.
- Classic Target: Test your precision with smaller scoring rings.
- Tic-Tac-Toe: Engage in head-to-head fights with your opponents in a game of axe throwing Tic-Tac-Toe.
- Bullseye Blitz: Experience the thrill as the target gradually shrinks in this intense game mode.
- Ultra BATL: Take on the official International Axe Throwing Federation (IATF) target in a larger-than-life setting.
LAI Games has also revealed that more updates are planned for the future. These updates will include additional game modes that will bring even more excitement to the axe throwing expansion. Players can look forward to new “axe tracks” for the arcade jukebox, an area for practicing aim on randomly spawned targets, official IATF axes, and BATL-themed avatar apparel and accessories.

Arcade Legend is currently available on the Oculus Quest platform. The free VR axe throwing update will be released on August 24, offering players a new way to enjoy the game. Additionally, a SteamVR release is planned for the near future, ensuring that players on various platforms can experience the thrill of virtual axe throwing.
