Lies of P: A Bloodborne-Inspired Adventure with 3 Thrilling Endings

The Upcoming Bloodborne-Inspired Soulslike Lies of P Features Three Endings for Players

The highly anticipated game Lies of P, which draws inspiration from the critically acclaimed Bloodborne, is set to offer players a unique and immersive experience with three different endings. Game director Ji-Won Choi revealed in an interview with IGN at gamescom 2023 that the decisions players make throughout the game will determine which ending they ultimately achieve.

Choi explained that Lies of P features a lying system, where players not only deceive others but also engage in white lies to make others feel better. This system adds a layer of complexity to the game, as players must understand the emotions of the characters and make decisions accordingly. The consequences of these lies will directly impact the ending players receive.

According to Choi, “There are three different endings, and if you get to the end of the story, there’s a big surprise, a twist, waiting for you. The decisions that you made throughout the game will lead you to endings, so it’s not something that you have to pick at the ending, it will lead you throughout the game.”

Unclear Consequences and Hidden Endings

Choi also hinted that Lies of P will not have obvious story paths for players to follow in order to achieve each ending. Instead, there will be seemingly unclear consequences to players’ decisions that will only unfold later in the game. This approach mirrors the hidden ending in Bloodborne, where players must make a series of decisions without apparent purpose at the time.

While Lies of P’s other endings will offer players a more straightforward choice between two options at the game’s close, the hidden ending adds an element of mystery and intrigue.

Similarities to Bloodborne

Since its announcement in 2021, Lies of P has drawn comparisons to Bloodborne due to its gothic architecture, animations, and even its simple red health bars. Fans of FromSoftware’s iconic game have been eagerly awaiting Lies of P and have even created mods for the PC demo to include Bloodborne’s assets.

In IGN’s preview of Lies of P, launching on September 19, they noted the attention to detail in recapturing Bloodborne’s magic, stating, “Even if Pinocchio’s story in Lies of P isn’t being manipulated by cosmic old gods that turn people into slugs, the attention to detail in recapturing Bloodborne’s magic has got [our] full attention.”

In Conclusion

Lies of P promises to deliver a thrilling and immersive experience for players, with its three different endings and intricate lying system. The game’s director, Ji-Won Choi, has emphasized the importance of players’ decisions and their impact on the story, ensuring a personalized and engaging gameplay experience.
