Stalker 2’s Xbox Game Pass Release Date Shifts To Early 2024

Developer GSC Game World may have shown up at Gamescom 2023 with an impressive playable demo of Stalker 2, but it appears that the game’s full release has been delayed. According to a new developer fact sheet that lays out lots of info on Stalker 2, the title will now launch in Q1 2024.

Recently, the game seemed to be aiming for a December 2023 release, although that date now looks like it was indeed a placeholder while GSC lined up its launch plans. The game is still coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one, alongside a standard Xbox and PC release.

Development on Stalker 2 has been tumultuous to say the least, with the developer’s home nation of Ukraine being invaded mid-development. In this case, it’s completely understandable that the game has slipped to 2024 – we hope the team gets all the time it needs to make things work.

It’s not like we don’t have plenty to tackle in 2023 anyway; the rest of the year is jam-packed! If you want to know what else is coming to Xbox Game Pass over the next few months, check out our 2023 Game Pass guide down below.

While fans may be disappointed by the delay of Stalker 2’s release, it’s important to remember the challenging circumstances the developers at GSC Game World have faced. The invasion of their home nation of Ukraine undoubtedly took a toll on the development process, and it’s commendable that they’re still committed to delivering a high-quality game.
