Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 16-17)

Welcome to the weekend! We’ve got plenty of good stuff to enjoy on Xbox over the next few days including some new Xbox Game Pass releases, a variety of Free Play Days titles and a Crew Motorfest free weekend, lots of fantastic sales including some special “Just For You” offers on Ubisoft games, and of course… Starfield is still waiting for you!

Here’s what we’re playing this weekend:

Fraser Gilbert, Editor

I’ve got a few games in my rotation right now. The first is Ubisoft’s The Crew Motorfest, which just released earlier this week (we’ll have a review on Pure Xbox soon!). I’m having a great time with this one so far, and I’d say that anyone who enjoys the Forza Horizon style of racing games will gravitate to Motorfest very quickly.

Elsewhere, I’m still trying to play through the amazing Sea of Stars and Starfield on Xbox Game Pass, both of which are commanding more time than I have right now, and I’m actually getting into eFootball 2024 for the first time ever! I was so sad when Konami killed off PES (I still am), but I’ll admit that the new version of eFootball is pretty good.

Have a great weekend, folks.

Craig Reid, Video Producer

Ahoy folks! This weekend I thought I’d go back and pick Cyberpunk 2077 up ahead of Phantom Liberty’s launch later this month. Are you excited for it? I’m pumped to drive around the streets of Night City blasting “I Really Want to Stay At Your House” on the radio – absolute choon!

When I’ve had my fill of cruising the neon streets, I’ll be hopping onto Mortal Kombat 1 to capture footage for our review. I’ll warn you now though, prepare your butts for my horrible skill level in the video. I really wish I were better at fighting games, but I accept that I’m not great. Who knows, maybe MK1 will be the fighter I’m actually good at? Let’s find out!

Ben Kerry, Staff Writer

Hello there! Just like Fraser, I’ll be playing some more of The Crew Motorfest this weekend as I work towards bringing you guys some thoughts on Ubisoft’s new racer. Open world racing fans, you might want to keep your eyes on this one!

If I’m being honest with myself, I probably won’t get much time for anything else this weekend, but if time magically manifests itself in front of my very eyes, I’ll be continuing my playthrough of Bethesda’s mammoth RPG – like lots of you are, I suspect!

Have a brilliant weekend.

Let’s see what our gaming experts have planned for this weekend:

Fraser Gilbert, Editor:
I have a few games on my rotation right now. The first one is Ubisoft’s The Crew Motorfest, which just released earlier this week. I’m having a great time with this one, and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys racing games like Forza Horizon. Additionally, I’m still diving into Sea of Stars and Starfield on Xbox Game Pass. These two games are absorbing a lot of my time, and I’m also finding myself unexpectedly enjoying eFootball 2024. As a fan of the PES series, I was sad to see it go, but the new eFootball is impressing me.

Ahoy folks! This weekend, I’m going back to Cyberpunk 2077 ahead of the launch of Phantom Liberty later this month. Are you excited for it? I can’t wait to cruise the neon streets of Night City while blasting “I Really Want to Stay At Your House” on the radio. And after that, I’ll be playing Mortal Kombat 1 to capture footage for our review. I must warn you though, my skills in fighting games are not the greatest, but who knows, maybe MK1 will be the one I excel at? Let’s find out!

Ben Kerry, Staff Writer:
Hello there! Like Fraser, I’ll be spending more time with The Crew Motorfest this weekend to bring you my thoughts on Ubisoft’s new racer. Fans of open-world racing games should definitely keep an eye on this one. If I manage to find some extra time magically, I’ll continue my journey through Bethesda’s massive RPG. Like many of you, I can’t get enough of it!
