Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road Introduces New Mechanics and Long-Term Support
Level-5 has recently provided exciting details about their upcoming game, Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road. The developers have been conscious of the series’ roots while also recognizing the need to adapt to the evolving gaming landscape. As a result, they have implemented new match mechanics that enhance the strategic thinking required during matches.
Introducing New Match Mechanics
The developers have introduced several new match mechanics that add depth and complexity to the gameplay:
- Focus: This new system requires situational awareness and snap judgments, moving beyond simple midfield maneuvering. It strikes a balance between player skill, statistical strength, and luck.
- In the Zone: The battle between offense and defense in front of the goal has been revamped. Players must now consider various options, such as making quick passes to adjacent teammates, instead of solely selecting shots.
- Scramble: This function simulates the fight for ball possession seen in real-life soccer matches. Players must make decisions on whether to keep the ball, perform headers to pass it to nearby teammates, or choose from other plays.
- Tension Gauge: Individual Technique Points (TP) have been replaced with a shared Tension Gauge for the entire team. Tension accumulates based on Focus and is consumed to use skills. Effective management of this gauge is crucial for victory.
A trailer showcasing these new systems is set to be released on August 31. Additionally, players will have the opportunity to experience the game firsthand at the Tokyo Game Show 2023 in September.
Plan V: Long-Term Support
In order to ensure the longevity of Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road, Level-5 has developed a long-term management strategy called Plan V. This strategy aims to enrich the online player experience and sustain the game’s popularity.
New Mode: Victory Road
In addition to one-off online matches, the game will introduce a mode called Football Frontier, where players can compete in tournaments. This mode has been highly anticipated by Inazuma Eleven fans. The tournament will feature open qualifiers, allowing anyone to participate and earn points to advance to the next stage. A schedule will be established for the final matches, and contenders will gather at predetermined times to participate.
Seasonal Competitions (Seasonal Players and Eternal Players)
Each Football Frontier season will last two to three months. In order to succeed in this mode, players must form a balanced team consisting of at least six seasonal players and five eternal players. Seasonal players can only be acquired during a specific season and must be newly trained each time. Eternal players, on the other hand, are strong players trained in other game modes.

Players Evolving Through Changing Seasons
Seasonal players introduced in one season will progress to higher grades in subsequent seasons. They will eventually graduate after three consecutive seasons. However, these seasonal players will not disappear once the season is over. Players will have the opportunity to add them to their eternal roster. Additionally, rare and famous players like Yuto Kido and Shiro Fubuki may become available, adding excitement to team-building.
Winners of the Protagonist Audition
After an audition process involving 35 voice actors, the casting for the protagonists of Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road, Unmei Sasanami and Haru Endo, has been finalized. Fans can look forward to hearing their voices in the game, as a video showcasing their performances will be released in September.
Initial Release Features
The initial release of Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road will include almost the entire cast from previous releases. However, certain features like Miximax and Armourfy will not be available from the beginning. Nevertheless, the developers have ensured that the game will at least include Fighting Spirit.
New Character Designs
Level-5 has unveiled some exciting new character designs for Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road. While details about these characters are scarce at the moment, one particular design has caught the attention of fans—a boy with distinctive striped blonde hair who has a deep connection with a character from the past. Speculation about this character’s role is already running wild among fans.
As of now, Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road is tentatively planned for release in 2023. More information about the game will be shared by Level-5 on August 31, with another update scheduled just before the Tokyo Game Show in September. Fans will also have the opportunity to play the game at the event, further building anticipation for this highly anticipated title.
