Baldur’s Gate 3’s Act 3 Faces Criticism for Bugs and Unfinished Content
Since its launch earlier this month, Baldur’s Gate 3 has been praised for its gameplay, characters, and the vast number of choices available to players. However, as gamers progress into the third act of the game, many are encountering a touch of disappointment.
On the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, players have expressed frustration with act 3, citing issues such as bugs, lag, and unfinished content. Some players have reported having quests in their journal that are impossible to complete due to bugs. Others have experienced serious performance issues.
Furthermore, players have noticed quests in act 3 that seem inconsequential or unfinished. Some users have even discovered cut content related to characters like Minthara and Karlach in the game’s files.
One particular character that has drawn attention is Minthara. While many players may have killed her without a second thought, recruiting her into your party is possible. However, players who have reached act 3 have found that Minthara’s quests and dialogue are lacking depth.
Players have expressed disappointment in the development of Minthara’s character, feeling that there was a missed opportunity to explore her nuanced personality further. The community has even created a “Justice for Minthara” movement, highlighting the issues surrounding her character.
Despite these criticisms, some players have still enjoyed act 3, considering the performance issues to be minor compared to the overall quality of the game. However, others with weaker PC hardware have had a more challenging experience.
Larian Studios, the developer of Baldur’s Gate 3, has acknowledged the issues and committed to improving the game. They have promised a second patch that will feature significant performance improvements. However, the studio has stated that they will not begin working on expansion content until after major patches are completed.
For players who have yet to reach act 3, it may be advisable to take their time and wait for future patches or the console releases, which may address the issues present in the game’s final act.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is set to release on PS5 on September 6, with the Xbox Series X|S version coming later this year.
