Accessories for Cameras: Carrying Case, Straps, Lenses, and More

Looking for Meta Quest 3 accessories? Here’s what you need to know.

After months of waiting, Quest 3 has arrived and if you’re looking to pick up Meta’s latest headset, you’ve likely got your eye on at least one of the many accessories being offered. Between carrying cases, headset straps, earbuds, and prescription lenses, there’s much to consider. In this article, we’ll provide an overview of the accessories available for the Quest 3, including their features, compatibility, and pricing.

Quest 3 Head Straps

One of the first accessories to consider is the head strap. The Quest 3 comes with a standard default strap, but Meta is also offering an ‘Elite Strap’ for a more comfortable and secure fit. The Elite Strap features a click wheel for easy tightening and is recommended for longer VR sessions. However, it’s worth noting that the Elite Strap for Quest 2 is not compatible with Quest 3. If you prefer third-party options, companies like BOBOVR and KIWI Design are expected to release their own head straps in the near future. Stay tuned for updates.

Quest 3 Carrying Case

If you plan to take your Quest 3 on the go or want to keep it safe at home, a carrying case is a must-have accessory. Meta offers an official carrying case for the Quest 3, but there are also third-party options available. While we haven’t tested these yet, it’s worth exploring different options to find one that fits your needs.

Quest 3 Charging Dock

For convenient charging of your Quest 3 headset and Touch Plus controllers, Meta offers an official charging dock. This dock includes rechargeable batteries for your controllers and can also serve as a display stand for your headset. Currently, no third-party options are available, so the official dock is your best bet.

Quest 3 Facial Interfaces

To enhance comfort and hygiene, Meta offers different facial interfaces for the Quest 3. Currently, they officially offer blue and orange facial interfaces, and more options may become available in the future. If you plan to use your Quest 3 for fitness activities, consider the black silicone facial interface for easier cleaning. Additionally, third-party companies like VR Rock and VR Optician offer their own prescription lens inserts for the Quest 3.

Quest 3 Controller Grips and Straps

To improve the grip and security of your Touch Plus controllers, Meta offers an ‘Active Straps’ option as an upgrade to the standard straps. Third-party companies like AMVR also provide silicone grip covers and knuckle straps for added comfort and control. It’s worth mentioning that the Touch Pro controllers, compatible with Quest Pro, can be used with the Quest 3 as well.

Quest 3 Earbuds or Headphones

While the Quest 3 supports Bluetooth headphones and earbuds, Meta has partnered with Razer for the ‘Made for Meta’ program to offer a Quest-specific version of the noise-canceling ‘Hammerhead HyperSpeed’ earbuds. These earbuds provide a wireless connection via USB-C dongle or Bluetooth. If you prefer wired options, consider using 3.5mm headphones or headphones with a USB-C dongle. Until Razer’s option becomes available, there are limited Quest 3-specific earbuds or headphones on the market, but you can still use the best options from Quest 2.

Quest 3 Face Cover

If you’re not a fan of the white Quest 3 design, third-party companies like Kuject offer face covers to customize the look of your headset. You can choose from options like black silicone shell covers or accessory packs with different color choices. While we haven’t tested these face covers yet, they provide a way to personalize your Quest 3.

Quest 3 Link Cable for PC VR

If you’re planning to play PC VR games through Quest Link, you’ll need a longer cable than the 1-meter charging cable that comes with the Quest 3. While there isn’t an official Quest 3 Link Cable yet, the Quest 2 Link Cable is compatible with Quest 3. However, it comes at a higher price point. Alternatively, third-party options are available at a more affordable price.

Quest 3 Gunstock

For those interested in a gun attachment for their Touch Pro controllers, ProTubeVR offers options like the ‘ProTas,’ ‘ProSaber,’ and ‘SWINGiT.’ These accessories provide a more immersive experience for shooting games. Keep in mind that these gunstocks are not essential accessories but can enhance gameplay for certain genres.

Remember, when purchasing accessories, it’s important to consider factors like compatibility, build quality, and price. As time goes on, more third-party accessories will become available, expanding the range of options for Quest 3 users. Stay tuned for updates on new releases and compatibility.
