Cyberpunk 2077 River Photo

At this point, everyone knows just how much of a game-changer Update 2.0 for Cyberpunk 2077 is. Total gameplay system overhauls, fundamental changes to combat, etc., etc. But there’s one adjustment that deserves to be singled out and paraded through the streets — an adjustment that finally fixes what is perhaps the most infamously bad moment in Cyberpunk 2077.

The Notorious River Photo

We are, of course, talking about the hilariously awful picture that River’s sister Joss sends you via text after completing all of their related missions. For those who may not know, helping out Detective River Ward with his investigation results in V becoming good friends (or potentially more if you’re playing as a female V) with the ex-cop. A little later on, V is sent a photo of River, Joss, and the family.

This image — and the resulting text conversation — was added in one of the game’s previous updates to help flesh out secondary characters and romance options. However, the picture was comically crap — a shockingly rough photoshop job of the character models hanging out together. Many assumed that it must have been a placeholder or draft that somehow made it into the game — possibly because of time restrictions.

Thankfully, that nightmarish picture has been replaced thanks to Update 2.0. Joss now sends V a much higher quality photo, complete with actual lighting effects and depth. CD Projekt Red actually did it!

Finally, Cyberpunk 2077 is Playable Again

With the release of Update 2.0 for Cyberpunk 2077, players can now experience improved graphics and gameplay. Aside from the major system overhauls and combat changes, the fix to the notorious River photo adds a much-needed visual upgrade to an otherwise embarrassing moment in the game.

This update showcases the dedication of CD Projekt Red to continuously improve and enhance the player experience. By replacing the low-quality picture with a more polished and realistic version, the developers have demonstrated their commitment to addressing player feedback and delivering a more immersive gaming experience.

Players can now fully enjoy the friendship or potential romance between V and Detective River Ward without being distracted by a subpar photo. The improved lighting effects and depth contribute to the overall visual fidelity of the game, creating a more engaging and believable world within Cyberpunk 2077.

Overall, Update 2.0 brings Cyberpunk 2077 closer to its full potential, rectifying one of its most infamously bad moments. With the game continually evolving and updates like these, players can look forward to an even better experience as CD Projekt Red remains committed to delivering an immersive and captivating cyberpunk adventure.
